Double El & Agate Conservation Districts participate in, support and provide scholarships for district area teachers to attend the Teacher Workshops hosted by Rio Grand Watershed Conservation Education Initiative (RGWCEI) each summer .
The RGWCEI curriculum provides teachers in grades K-12 an opportunity to experience conservation outside the Classroom that is tied to Colorado Content Standards. In this setting they are able to bring hands-on activities coupled with real world concepts to students that will engage, enlighten and interest students.
Cost for the workshop is $250 and teachers can earn two graduate credits for completion of the workshop. Double El & Agate Conservation Districts offer one partial or full scholarship each year for a local teacher to apply.
Please contact District Manager at (719) 541-2359, to request application, scholarship information as well as the current year’s curriculum.
