Double El Conservation District will provide a scholarship for an area youth to attend Camp Rocky.
Deadline to apply for scholarship is June 1.
This exceptional camp is celebrating 54 years!
2017 Camp Rocky is scheduled for July 9th through 15th, again at the Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp facility, just outside Divide, CO.
The Colorado Association of Conservation Districts (CACD) brings this educational youth camp together each year for student’s ages 14 – 18 years or 8th grade graduates by June 8th.
Our camp offers four natural resource conservation based disciplines:
- Soil and Water Conservation
- Forest Management
- Rangeland Science
- Fish and Wildlife Management
Each student is offered one of the four areas of study and will participate within that area for the entire week at camp.
Along with our campers, we have professional staff and junior leaders, and we are again pleased to have Amy Gossman as our camp Co-Director. Amy retired from the CO Department of Agriculture in 2014 and has had many years of experience working with youth as a teacher, program coordinator, and an outreach educator.
The cost of this week long conservation camp experience is only $350 per student. Each camper that is interested can go to CACD website and download a brochure and 2017 camp application.
The application, along with a $100 camp deposit, is required from each camper to reserve your spot.
Further Information and scholarships for the balance of $250 are available by contacting Double El Conservation District: (719) 541 2359 x 180 or by emailing us or CACD.
