Cost-Share and Matching Grants
Each year we apply for grant funds to provide cost-share reimbursement or matching grant assistance for:
- Living Snow Fence
- Range Management Conservation Practices
The Windbreak Cost-Sharing and Matching Grants programs are opened once we receive word our annual grant application(s) have been approved. Be sure to check here or at our Announcements page, as we will post information as funding options become available.
No reimbursement is available for any projects started prior to approval of a cost-share or matching grant application.
Double El Windbreak Cost-Share Program
Approved applications can receive up to 50% maximum reimbursement of the actual cost of an approved windbreak, not to exceed $750.
All approved applications must meet Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) guidelines and specifications (i.e. proper tree spacing, proper species selection and site location).
Double El CD requires a minimum of two rows, weed barrier and drip irrigation system and purchase of trees and supplies through our annual tree program. If the windbreak will be in an area where livestock have access, the cost share program will require a fence to exclude livestock access.
Applications will be considered on a conservation ranking system for funding approval.
Approved windbreak cost share applications will have 24 hours to accept offer.
Windbreak project may not be started until approved by Double El CD and funding is not available for practices already installed.
Contact District Manager at (719)541-2359, Ext. 101, for more information and application process.
Deadline for 2018 Cost-Share Program application is noon, February 8th.
