Approved applications can receive up to 50% maximum reimbursement of the actual cost of an approved windbreak, not to exceed $750.
All approved applications must meet Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) guidelines and specifications (i.e. proper tree spacing, proper species selection and site location).
Double El CD requires a minimum of two rows, weed barrier and drip irrigation system and purchase of trees and supplies through our annual tree program. If the windbreak will be in an area where livestock have access, the cost share program will require a fence to exclude livestock access.
Applications will be considered on a conservation ranking system for funding approval.
