CSU Extension in partnership with Elbert County Master Gardeners, are hosting a free tomato and irrigation seminar on Saturday, March 5, 2016 in the Agriculture Building at Elbert County Fair Ground from 1 pm – 3 pm.
Elbert County Master Gardeners keynote speakers will share their tips, tricks and lessons-learned to aid you in scoring a bountiful harvest this gardening season.

Learn the different type of seeds to plant and growing strategies for a successful harvest here on the Eastern Plains of Colorado.
Lesley Roper – Soil Quality/Irrigation
Recognize the different ways to assess your soil quality and learn how to best irrigate your planting beds and containers.
Margaret Koops – Utilizing/Preserving the Harvest
Quick-win ideas to start utilizing your gardening season harvest through different recipes and preservation methods.

Pre-Registering by March 3rd is requested, as a minimum of 15 registered persons are required to hold the seminar; however, walk-ins welcome if enough pre-registered to hold.
