Overview:
Categories: Evergreen, Proven Performer, Wildlife Value, WindbreakTall evergreen tree with potential to reach up to 100 ft., in height, the Pondersoa pine’s adaptability and drought tolerance makes it an excellent windbreak species and it has consistently been a proven performer in our area.
Moderately slow growing, but very long lived, and thrives in areas where the Colorado Blue Spruce struggles or will not work.
Use in central row or leeward rows of multi-row windbreaks. Can also be used in single, or high density twin row windbreaks as well.
High in wildlife value, it provides food & cover for small birds, animals, and may be browsed by deer, but is not a preferred forage.
If you’re looking for a multiple of returns on your investment, from a species that loves our area, choose the Ponderosa Pine.
