Spreading, tall deciduous shrub with edible fruit and attractive flowers; for sites up to 9,000′ elev.
Tolerant of a wide range of environmental conditions it is winter hardy, long-lived and slow growing. Excellent for mine spoils or disturbed soils.
Can be planted on the windward side of multi-row windbreaks when adequate moisture is available. Not recommended for planting in single row windbreaks.
High value plant for wildlife cover and food.
